Programming Analog Telephones

Before You Begin

• Ensure the Analog Services Unit, Embedded Analog, or AX controller is programmed in the Analog Services Units form.

• Program Class of Service, Interconnect Restriction, and Intercept Handling.

• If the analog sets are connected to 16 Port ONS cards, ensure that you have Single Line Licenses available in the License and Option Selection form.

Programming

To program analog telephones:

1. ONS/OPS Circuit Descriptors form

2. Change the circuit descriptor contents (if required).

3. For ONS circuits, change the transmission parameter to SHORT.

2. Analog Sets form

3. Assign a directory number, circuit descriptor number, and an interconnect number to the circuit.

3. Default Account Codes form (optional)

• Create a default account code number that will appear in all SMDR records for the station.

4. Station Attributes form

5. Assign a Class of Service, Class of Restriction, Default Account Code Index number (optional), and Intercept Number to the telephone's directory number.

5. User and Services Configuration form

6. Use the User and Services Configuration search field to locate the directory number that you assigned to the device. Assign a name, department, and location to all directory numbers in the system.

NOTE: If you delete telephones, you must also delete the corresponding directory entries and voice mailboxes.
